Fall Makeup – Skincare Tips & Colors for Colder Months
The Fall is such a wonderful time of year.
It marks the return of pumpkin spice E V E R Y T H I N G, over-sized comfy sweaters, cute thigh-high boots and booties, and delicious food.
As we transition into these Fall and Winter months, we’ve got some tips to keep your skincare regimen and makeup lookin’ just right!
See Undressed Fashion’s 5 tips for Fall skincare and makeup:
Keep your skin hydrated: As the seasons change from Summer to Fall, the humidity drops and everything dries out – even our skin. It’s funny how in the Summer all we want to do is conceal our shiny faces but come October and November our skin is begging to be moisturized. During the Fall and Winter months it’s SO important that you step up your skincare regimen and moisturize regularly. Girls, is there anything worse than flaky skin? Nope. Nope. Nope. Check for moisturizers that use Hyaluronic Acid, which will boost skin hydration. Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel is an excellent (and affordable) option.
Keep those kissable lips: In addition to lathering on moisturizer to your face and hands (and skin in general), don’t forget to condition your pretty pout. Chapped lips are the worst – right?! Try Lush’s Lip Service Balm to help alleviate and treat seasonal dryness. Use the balm overnight to get in some extra moisturizer.
SPF is still a must: Just because it’s cold or overcast outside does not mean you can skip your SPF. Babes, you only have one gorgeous face – take care of it! You should be wearing SPF year-round. Especially for those mountain trips, make sure you’re generously applying SPF to your face and any other exposed body part. UV rays reflect off the snow, making them more damaging to any unprotected skin.
More makeup, please: The best part of the Fall and Winter months – you can wear a lot more makeup without the dread of it melting off! This time of year try to have some fun with your makeup. Look for concealers that give you a soft, poreless look. However, avoid powder foundations -- if you can -- since colder weather can accentuate dry skin (hello, fine lines). Experiment with different eye shadows and eye liners. We love incorporating Fall colors into our makeup pallet, using browns and golds in our shadows and deep reds for a come-and-get-me bold lip.
Add some sparkle: You can also have fun with a little glitter (keyword being *little*) for those special occasions. Adding a pop of champagne sparkles on your eyes or highlighter for your cheekbones can glam up any look. Missing your Summer dewy skin? Use setting sprays to add even more moisture to your face and freshen-up your look. Urban Decay’s Chill Cooling & Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray or NYX Makeup Setting Spray – Dewy Finish are great options for a moisturized look.
